After building up popular expectations that the release of Gingerbread (Android 2.3) this week would coincide with the Google-Samsung Nexus two launch, it seems established now, that those looking forward to hold the sleek Nexus two may have to wait longer. This delay is attributed to a hardware issue exposed by testers though the nature of the snag remains undisclosed. Given the past GPS –related issues Samsung had with its Galaxy S line-up, the same may be the culprit here too as Nexus is thought to be quite like Galaxy S.
The expectation that this phone would have a clean version of Android just like Nexus One which was sold by Google directly to the customers has the people excited.
Launched in January this year and manufactured by HTC, Google’s Nexus One was touted as the meeting point of web and phone. This time around Samsung is manufacturing the phone which is expected to run on Gingerbread with full touchscreen, 4 inch AMOLED screen and a 512 MB RAM. Other features include Wi-Fi and Bluetooth, a 5 megapixel camera with autofocus and HD video capture. Going by the interest with which developments around its launch are being followed, Nexus two can only delight the multitudes waiting for it.

Interesting, but erm, how is this different from my (uk version) galaxy s?
Other than Gingerbread/software-wise, that is
The Nexus One looks really niche in this photo… it’s too bad Google went for Samsung and its cheap build quality.
Galaxy S specifications are virtually the same as GN1. Hardly make sense to sell another device that is virtually identical. At least it should have a keyboard.
